You're going to find this hard to
believe but bathroom faucets like most bath fixtures come in every shape
size and form you could possibly ever imagine.
Most bathroom designers like to match the bathroom faucet with the other
fixtures and towel bars in the bathroom. If you have antique brass
shower valve they would like to match the bathroom faucet to this also.
This is very common when designing a bathroom but is not necessary. If
you want to get a little creative mix and match your bathroom fixtures.
The most common bathroom faucet finish is chrome and you will find that
true with most other bathroom fixtures also. Chrome seems to be durable
and requires very little maintenance to keep clean.
One of the biggest problems with a faucet over time is the wear in the
handles from opening and closing them and at the edge of the waterspout
where the water comes out.
If you have a slow water leak in your faucet over time you could have
damage to the faucet waterspout from calcium deposits and rust.
All water leaks should be repaired as soon as financially possible.
