Towel Bars

Towel bars are a necessity for any bathroom. Like most of your bathroom fixtures towel bars come and many different shapes and sizes. You can get towel bars anywhere from 6 inches to 36 inches in length.

However one of the biggest problems with towel bars is the proper backing in the wall. If you attach a towel bar into the drywall with various anchoring devices and you hang a heavy towel on the bar or someone uses the towel bar for chin ups you could pull the towel bar right out of the wall.

Try to install the towel bar if possible into one of the 2 x 4 walls studs for the best possible anchoring. Most towel bars can be cut to accommodate the width of the wall studs.

If you are removing the drywall make sure to install towel bar backing for the new towel bars.
