Installing Shear Walls

Installing a shear wall in my home.  What Does A Shear Wall Do? Shear walls are a structural building component built into all most all new houses. In the picture above we made a eight foot wall into a four foot wide wall. The house is a post and beam construction and did not require a shear wall but it made since to install one.
