Moving A Door

In the picture above we moved a door and added a closet in the bedroom. You can see the blue electrical box and the hole on the left side of the picture where the old light switch used to be . The biggest problem in moving a door is the possible electrical wires, pipes in wall, heating ducts and structural framing that could be in the spot where you want to cut the new door into your wall. Take a look at a wall with everything in it,

Some times you can look in the attic or basement to see if any wires or pipes are coming out of the top or bottom of a wall. If there are pipes or wires you will have to move them and this could be costly.
