Building wood handrails is a art in itself. I see a lot of handrails
built for safety but they don't meet most building codes. The
biggest problem with building a handrail is safety.
Their is a minimum spacing for handrail components of 4 inches. The
reason for this is so that a baby will not stick their heads into these
spaces. This is a good reason to rebuild your hand railing system if the
balusters are over spaced.
I still see handrails being built with safety problems so be aware. |
