| Where do we start when talking
about damage caused by moisture to a building exterior. It doesn't
matter if you live in the desert, mountains, city or by the beach.
Moisture is everywhere. I have seen a hole the size of pencil eraser
destroy a drywall ceiling. The damage over time from a small hole can be
extremely costly.
If you don't have the money to hire someone to fix your damaged
siding. Think about fixing it with some metal or wood scraps or if the
hole is small fill it with caulking. Don't be fooled into thinking
filling the holes up or nailing a scrap piece of wood onto the damaged
area will stop the damage. If done incorrectly it can actually cause
more damage to your house.
As a rule of thumb patch the
small holes and cover
up the larger holes with some sort of plastic or plywood until you
can get the siding damage fixed.
