| Removing the stucco is not that easy and some contractors
will want to nail on 1x6 or 2x4 vertical boards to nail the new
siding onto over the old stucco. We don't do this.
Leaving the old stucco or siding on creates problems latte on
down the road. If you have plywood siding on the existing house
or board and batten you can go over this if the plywood is in
good condition.
You will get a much better building exterior removing the old
stucco or siding and starting new. You will be able to replace
your windows, insulate, wood repairs and electrical if necessary
