| This is not real common. The wood
damage to the window style is due to a poor quality of wood when the
window was built. Or could even be from poor workmanship. Either way
this is not the kind of damage you will normally see.
To repair the wood window style correctly you would have to replace
the style with a new one. I would not recommend filling this with wood
putty because latter on the putty is going to fall out in one big piece.
You could however use it as a temporary fix until you replace the style.
